When it comes to setting your levels for mastering, start with the loudest part of the song first.

This will let you get your levels in place & help avoid any surprise clipping or over limiting/compressing later on.

The following areas are ballpark numbers & you will have to search somewhere between these areas. Some vocals may have these same issues, but at even lower or higher frequencies; each vocal is different. You won’t always need to cut every area either. Some vocals may need a cut in a certain area while some are best left alone in another area.

The more & more you get involved in mixing, having some good EQs in your collection will be useful & can help your workflow.
