WHAT ARE EXCITERS?

These quick production tips will save you time in the studio and improve your workflow.

Exciters or distortion plugins can add a lot more energy to your tracks. These can be used anywhere in your mix; however, they can really-up the overall energy of your song by applying them to your master channel!

We recommend using the wet/dry knob if your plugin has one & placing it at around 50%. Subtle increases to the drive knob between 20-40% are ideal.

This process is meant to add subtle energy & too much of it can cause clipping, distortion, & crackling.
