The piano is an instrument that is a timeless classic & will always have a place in music, no matter what the genre is. If you produce, compose, or song-write, a good piano collection is vital. Building up a good collection of piano libraries can become expensive, but did you know that there are a handful of piano libraries on the market that are free?
Not only are there some free piano libraries out there, but we went ahead & made a list - with links - of our favorite free piano libraries!

Piano One comes from the Yamaha C7 concert grand, a true workhorse in the professional piano world. Appearing on famous concert stages, in international competitions, and prestigious music events throughout the world.
Quiet Piano By Quiet Music
This is an awesome-sounding ambient piano. This library is specially designed to create relaxing music, meditation music, ambient music, Lo-Fi beats, & more. It’s available for Windows and Mac.
Keyzone Classic By BitSonic
This is a free piano library that’s great for drill & trap beats! It features sounds from a Yamaha grand piano, a Steinway grand piano, a basic electric piano, & a Rhodes piano.
Creepy Piano By Electronik Sound Lab
Another free piano library that’s perfect for drill & trap beats! This VST includes 22 presets, ADSR controls, an LP filter, & a reverb.
Monastery Grand by Nelda Productions
This free piano library is great for pop & rock music but will suit any other music style as well. The piano samples were recorded with over a dozen stereo mics & features effects such as delay, reverb, EQ, & a compressor.
Room Piano By Sample Science
If you’re looking for a piano that’s great for Lo-Fi beats, then this is definitely the one to add to your arsenal! It features ADSR, multi-LFO, highpass & lowpass filters, room reverb, & 3 voice modes: polyphonic, monophonic, & legato styles.
Piano In 162 By Ivy Audio
Piano in 162 is a sample library of a Steinway Model B grand piano. It’s available in Kontakt, SFZ, and Korg Kronos formats. If you’re using Kontakt, it only works in the full version of Kontakt & will not work with the free Kontakt player - but no worries if you don’t have the full version of Kontakt - you can also download the SFZ player & you’ll have free access!

This is a lightweight piano that samples an upright piano. It features 3 velocity layers & full decays up to 30 seconds in length.
Denver Grand By Echosound
This free piano library features over 1,000 piano samples & has a big, beautiful sound. This will only work in the full version of Kontakt & requires Kontakt 6 to work.
Select Free Pianos By Spitfire Audio Labs
Spitfire Audio Labs has a lot of great-sounding libraries you can purchase on their site that works with their Spitfire player, but you probably didn’t know that they also have a page of free libraries you can use in the Spitfire player as well. Check out their library called “Soft Piano” for a very intimate piano, perfect for Lo-Fi or melancholy vibes.
